KC521 is the isolated programmable converter which can be used commonly for RS422 and RS485. The converter can be used for communication type of RS422 or RS485 by adjusting the selection switch on the back of the body. Also terminal resistance and optimum communication speed can be set by the switch.

NORMAL : Switch mode of one-to-many(1:N) wiring of RS485/422

ECHO ON : Echo mode in RS485 communication

                         ECHO mode gets its own data transmitted back.

1:1 MODE : Generally selected when using RS422

                         to extend the communication distance of RS232.

TERMINAL : Switch mode of applying terminal resistance. The resistance of 120Ω is

built in. Communication speed switches are to set the optimum communication conditions. No problems occur in communication even when any switch is ON if the communication speed is slower than 9600bps. Only communication distance and number of connections differ. The switch can be used to get maximized distance, maximized number of connections and optimum communication conditions. The switch which is close to currently using communication speed, but equal or speedier than the current speed, should be selected.
